~ Members Code Of Ethics ~

 

 

  • Members shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner which will reflect credit upon themselves and  this kennel club  regardless of the location or circumstances, but especially when attending dog shows or any South Central Missouri Kennel Club event or activity whether as a spectator or a  participant.
  • Members will refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages during any meetings or club related functions.  Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated in any way, any member not adhering to these rules will be asked to leave, this club will promote a family friendly environment.
  • Every member of South Central Missouri Kennel Club is to protect the best interest of purebred dogs or dogs involved in Rally, Agility, Obedience, CGC or any other recognized discipline.
  • Members will keep their dog(s) under control at all times and ensure they are not a public nuisance. Members will set the example for responsible dog ownership and encourage responsible pet ownership by increasing public awareness and acceptance of humane and noble animal practices.
  • Members will keep their dogs in a healthy environment, maintain good standards of health and care including veterinary care and mental health care which includes socialization and contact with people. The animals welfare will be placed above all business considerations.
  • Members who are breeders will engage in ethical breeding practices attempting to produce and sell only puppies and adults of sound health and temperament, members will also accurately register stock and keep records of matings and pedigrees according to AKC regulations. Members will always supply purchasers with registration records unless there is written agreement signed by all parties noting the reason that the papers were withheld. Members will also supply all health records and any pedigree information available to the new owner of said dog/puppy.
  • Members will not misrepresent their dogs or puppies to purchasers through false or misleading advertisements.
  • Members will try to educate the public as to the standards of their breed(s) and the care of their breeders or wherever they are qualified to help.
  • Members agree to uphold all applicable federal, state and local laws governing animals in their care, licensing, identification and immunization requirements.
  • Members will avoid unfair competitive practices, any slander or defamation of competitors and will refrain from actions or business practices that would result in dishonor or distrust of the club, the club members or the pet industry in general.
  • Members will uphold the rules of the American Kennel Club (AKC).
  • In joining this club I hereby agree to abide by the MEMBERS CODE OF ETHICS.
